Maria has operated a website for Wickhambrook Parish Council for almost 10 years including a major re-design and update some 4 years ago. The site covers all aspects of village life – the Surgery, the School, Community Groups and Sports Clubs, Churches, local walks, history, etc – and emphasizes forthcoming events e.g. Wickhambrook Fireworks, Over 60s Christmas Party and Flu’ clinic.

The website is of particular importance to the Parish Council because parishioners and the local Press need to know what has been decided at the monthly meetings. An agenda is published the weekend before the Thursday committee meeting and the approved minutes are published the day following the meeting. Everyone knows what has taken place and if there are areas of concern parishioners can raise them at the following month’s meeting. I am always amazed how attractive and vital a website can be and this is entirely due to Maria’s skill and enthusiasm.
